​​​​The Minninglow March is an Ultra Quest event that explores a beautiful circular route in the Derbyshire Dales. The event takes place in July, but if you missed the event or couldn't make the date, why not tackle the Quest solo & earn the coveted 2025 Minninglow March patch? Plus, it'll be a great opportunity to recce the route ahead of entering the 2026 Minninglow March!

WHAT IS A SOLO QUEST?

Complete the Minninglow March route in your own time, at your own pace and on a date of your choosing! Alone or with friends, the choice is yours. Simply enter the Solo Quest, pay your fee & then email us once you have completed the Quest!

Anywhere on the route. Below are our suggestions. There is parking at these locations but not toilet facilities, unless you purchase a drink / food at the local pubs;

DISTANCE

The route is approximately 17 miles long with 2,000 ft of elevation

NAVIGATION

This Solo Quest is self-navigated, so please ensure that you are confident using either a GPX navigation system on your watch / phone OR a physical map & compass.

THE QUEST

You'll visit two points-of-interest on the route; Minninglow Hill & Harboro Rocks. Soak up the views, snap a selfie or a beautiful landscape shot, and continue on your journeys way

To enter the Solo Quest there is a fee of £6. This fee includes; 

- 1 x 2025 Minninglow March woven patch 

- postage of the patch (or available for collection from the Derby Runner Shop)

- GPX of the route  ​

WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR THE QUEST?

Depending ​on what speed you travel at, you could be out for several hours, so please go on your Solo Quest prepared. You must take personal responsibility to ensure that you;

- are fit enough to undertake the challenge 

- have suitable clothing & equipment for the journey & different weather conditions you may encounter 

- carry enough food & fluids for the duration of the Quest

- have the skills and means to navigate safely around the route, keeping to the public right of ways

- keep the trails tidy & take any litter home with you

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE QUEST?

You'll send us your evidence via email (link to Strava activity or similar) and we'll either post your woven patch out to you or you can arrange to collect it from the Derby Runner Shop... where you'll also be able to enjoy an exclusive discount! ​​​​​​​​​​
